This is the story of a cute schoolgirl, and her creepy looking but very nice boyfriend. Together, they go to school in the morning, and work at a restaurant in the afternoon, and since the poor guy can't afford to buy lunch, she prepares box lunches for both of them. The catch? The girl is a vampire. No scratch that. Make it an UNpire. What does that mean you ask? Well, first off, she doesn't need blood to stay alive, and her skin isn't sensitive to sunlight. The drawback is, that she produces an excess amount of blood, and nosebleeds a lot. The bigger problem is, her boyfriend pretty much matches her preference in blood, being a very unhappy guy, causing her blood to react to him... and spray out of her nose with high pressure.
Of course this pretty much makes it a sitcom. So, enter the incompetent vampire hunter, who happens to be the first guy she ever bit. The poor loser thinks it was some sort of romantic dream, and believes her to be his first true love, while being completely oblivious to her nature. Then come his grandpa, who has a long standing grudge with the friendly neighborhood vampires, and the vampire girl's grandma, who wants to turn her granddaughter into a normal vampire. All is hyped up to a big climax, and suddenly...
THE LAST 10 MINUTES GET F*CKED UP WITH THE BIGGEST DEUS EX MACHINA IN ANIME HISTORY. It pretty much involved an unlikely wardrobe malfunction, and disney death [link]
Yes, up until the last 10 minutes, Chibi Vampire Karin was a good anime. Cute, funny, with occasional drama. It's a shame that something this good was ruined with such a stupid ending.
