Something odd

Sat May 23, 2009, 4:47 AM
Something unusual started happening. I have Yahoo messenger, though I rarely use it, and it's set to start up with windows, and log in automatically. Well, not since yesterday afternoon. It starts up as usual, but fails to log in. I try to log in manually, it tries to log in and switches to the bouncy smiley face, which will keep on bouncing for several minutes without logging in, or even sending an error message that the login failed. Same happens no matter how many times I try, unless I close Yahoo messenger, and start it up manually, in which case, it logs on almost instantly. Strange isn't it. Now technically, I could disable Yahoo messenger entirely, but that doesn't change the fact that something is wrong and I have no idea what it is.

On a completely unrelated note, I watched Berserk, and I seriously regret doing so. First time I felt like it. After putting it off for almost a week now, I decided not to review it in depth. Thing is, it was, in my opinion the worst anime I saw, and I don't mean stupid worst or worst quality. I mean it was so unrealistic, I was unable to enjoy it, no matter how hard I tried. And no, 'fantasy' is no excuse for ruining my suspension of disbelief. Maybe it had some sort of message, but it got lost in the unrealistically dark and violent presentation. I was unable to sympathize with any of the main characters. I was unable to take the human antagonists seriously (mainly because at least half of them are pedophiles - it's getting too old and overdone). And I most certainly wasn't emotionally scarred while watching the last few episodes, which was probably the worst collection of Brain Farts I ever saw.
I'm not going to go into this any further, to avoid turning this into some sort of hate fueled rant. Someone who didn't saw it yet may take whatever I say seriously, and not watch it, even though they'd like it otherwise. So far, every person (who gives a damn about anime) I spoke to, likes it. I'm the only one who doesn't.
