A quick concept sketch of a semi-alien specie I designed. I think the time has come for me to reveal them. They will be appearing in The FAN at some point.
Drasa'an were once the most powerful beings on Shadow-Earth. Now they are all but extinct. They have various subspecies that have assumed the appearance of different animals, but all of them can take humanoid form (retaining some aspects of their animal form like tails, large ears, fangs or wings). They're most distinctive features (in any form) are 'living' hair (as opposed to 'dead' human hair) with a set number of antenna-like locks, larger than average eyes and large glowing pupils.
Drasa'an society is structured in a fashion very similar to certain insects. The rank of an individual is represented by the number of 'antennae' they have (7 - progenitor - head of a clan or family; 5 - queen - the 'mothers' in a family, they give birth to the new generations; 3 - warriors - soldiers, hunters and laborers; 1 - handmaidens - they serve the progenitor and the queens by any possible means).
